Manayunk Wall ready for return of Philadelphia Cycling Classic

The Philadelphia Cycling Classic is returning to Philadelphia after nearly a decade, set to take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The event will feature professional cyclists tackling a 14.4-mile course that includes the iconic Manayunk Wall climb, which is 250 feet straight up in less than a half-mile. Riders will climb the Wall eight times during the race. Susan Schaefer played a crucial role in promoting the race, helping to convince local residents to support it. The men's race will cover 120 miles with eight full circuits and three smaller loops, while the women's race will cover 62 miles with four full circuits and two additional loops. The event aims to showcase the beauty of Philadelphia, including Kelly Drive, Parkway, and the Schuylkill River. Broadcast partner 6abc will provide live coverage starting at 8:30 a.m. on August 30.
