Heat make sneaky move that will please Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Miami Heat are making a strategic move by recruiting veteran assistant coach Vin Baker, who previously worked with Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee. Baker, who had a close bond with Antetokounmpo over eight years, is joining Erik Spoelstra’s coaching staff in Miami. According to sources, the Heat will keep their current assistant coaches intact, avoiding layoffs to accommodate Baker. Baker joined the Bucks in 2018, having previously struggled with financial and substance abuse issues before turning his life around by securing a coaching position. He was drafted by the Bucks with the 8th pick in the 1993 NBA draft, played four seasons there before being traded to the Seattle SuperSonics, where he averaged 15.0 points and 7.4 rebounds over 13 years. The Heat also signed a former All-Star sharpshooter to benefit from Giannis’ offensive influence.
