Lakers officially head to Slovenia for Luka Doncic minicamp

Austin Reaves and the new-look Lakers have finally left Los Angeles to join Luka Doncic in Slovenia for a four-day minicamp. The Los Angeles Lakers are traveling to Slovenia to participate in a team-building event hosted by the Slovenian superstar in his home country, Ljubljana. The event runs from August 20 to August 24 and includes basketball workouts, golf activities, sightseeing around Ljubljana, and other team-building activities. According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Doncic is organizing a luxurious experience, chartering a private plane and arranging gift-giving of bags filled with Slovenian items, a dinner at one of his favorite restaurants, and fishing at Lake Bled. This trip serves as an early team hangout for the Lakers ahead of the highly anticipated 2026-27 NBA season, marking a new era for the franchise with Luka Doncic at its center after LeBron James' departure.
