Datin Kong Yuk Chu, mother of Malaysian actress-model Lisa Ch'ng and TVB actress Jacquelin Ch'ng, has died at the age of 78. The news was published in Instagram posts by the two sisters and Lisa's husband, Hong Kong actor-host Mat Yeung, on August 25. They shared the same caption: "It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we share that our beloved and respected mother has left us, completing her life journey surrounded by family and friends. We will always love you and miss you, mum." Lisa also posted an Instagram Story with a photo of Yuk Chu in a wheelchair from her wedding day on August 2, writing: "I miss you so much, mum. I hope there's no more suffering in heaven and you can be happy and have fun with dad. We love you very, very much." Jacquelin, 46, included photos from family gatherings with her mother and friends over the years. Yuk Chu was a former Hong Kong actress with a brief career in showbiz. After retiring from acting, she married Malaysian property and real estate tycoon Datuk Bill Ch'ng, with whom she had four children. Datuk Ch'ng passed away in 2023 at age 82. Yuk Chu’s wake will be held from August 30, and the funeral service on September 1 in Kuala Lumpur.
