Actor Mrunal Thakur has publicly warned against the creation and distribution of AI-generated deepfake content featuring her identity, calling the practice ‘illegal and unacceptable’ and stating that any further misuse will lead to legal action. She shared this statement on her Instagram Story on Tuesday. Mrunal declared, ‘Creating or sharing deepfake content using my likeness is illegal and unacceptable. Consider this your formal notice to stop immediately. Any further misuse of my identity will result in legal action.’ This warning comes amid growing concerns over unauthorized AI use altering or replicating a person’s identity, affecting many celebrities who have pursued legal protections for their image, voice, and personality rights.
