After signing a one-year, $2.6 million deal, Williams shared a screengrab of him and Melton smiling during a FaceTime call. The post included the caption ‘RUN IT BACK TURBOOOO’ and Warriors-themed emojis. This was a reference to hip-hop producer Chandler ‘Turbo’ Durham. Warriors Wire’s Mack Baltes explained the significance of this reunion, noting that Williams would now play alongside Melton in the NBA. Both played together at Crespi Carmelite High School, winning two state championships in 2015 and 2016. Williams averaged a career-high 13.0 points and 3.9 assists for the Dallas Mavericks last season, playing 66 games as a key ball-handler in Kyrie Irving’s absence. Additionally, the Warriors signed sharpshooter Georges Niang to a one-year, $3.9 million deal, bringing the roster to 15 players. Niang, a 40% career three-point shooter, missed last season due to injury but is expected to be ready for training camp. Previously with the Atlanta Hawks, he averaged 12.1 points and 2.7 threes per game. Niang also played for the Warriors’ G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, during the 2017-18 season.
