As stated by renowned author John Koenig from *The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows*, Anemoia is a noun representing ‘nostalgia for a time you’ve never known’. This is the title of Northlane’s seventh studio album, their second single ‘CUT_it’ from the record. The track explores themes of nostalgia and burnout through a genre-blending fusion of djent, metalcore, and electronic music. The song begins with a high-energy swirl of big beat electronica, transitioning into metallic mayhem with lyrics like ‘I got nothing else left and my body is a graveyard!’ before a brief interlude where vocalist Marcus Bridge sings, ‘Off with my head, won’t let me out.’ The track then merges into a chaotic, cathartic fusion of industrial and metalcore, culminating in a cathartic climax. The album, *Anemoia*, is executive produced by Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, House Of Protection) and features contributions from songwriter/guitarist Jon Deiley. Northlane’s ambitious project explores emotional intensity and heavy music’s catharsis. The album is set for release on October 30, with pre-orders available. In celebration, Northlane will embark on an Australian tour in November, headlined by After The Burial, Cenobia, and Above, Below, visiting major cities like Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
