Police said they responded to the Miami-area home of celebrity blogger and podcaster Perez Hilton after reports he engaged in self-harm in livestreamed video Tuesday. A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed Hilton was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media. Deputies spoke to family members at the scene and took him to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for medical attention. The video, initially on TikTok, showed Hilton covered in blood with cuts on his arms and torso. Viewers pleaded for his phone number to alert authorities. Multiple sheriff’s patrol vehicles were present, and the neighborhood was cordoned off with yellow tape. Hilton’s talent management firm, Golden Artists Entertainment, confirmed awareness of the incident but could not contact him directly. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, has three children born via surrogacy. In June 2024, he announced his family was moving back to Miami after living in Las Vegas for 3½ years, citing divine guidance. Hilton has a history of publicizing celebrity controversies and previously expressed a desire to reduce bullying online. He has also discussed mental health awareness, directing readers to crisis resources like 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
