Russian strikes in and around Kyiv killed at least 14 people, injured 27, and damaged warehouses. Some reports put the death toll at 15. Air raid alerts lasted over an hour as Moscow’s forces continued heavy attacks on Kyiv. Seven sites were hit in an assault that began Wednesday after midnight. In Kyiv, authorities reported one death, 24 injuries, and building damage. Vitali Klitschko, the mayor, said there may still be survivors under rubble, as rescuers pulled two people from a destroyed warehouse near the city center. An ambulance driver among the injured was in critical condition. Klitschko noted fires broke out in warehouses and storage areas, with a large fire on the city’s outskirts and debris from a missile near a residential building. The attack caused an ammonia leak, which emergency crews were addressing. Reuters witnesses reported explosions throughout the city. Klitschko stated air defense units responded to the assault. On Wednesday, the Russian defense ministry claimed it hit logistic hubs and supply centers in Kyiv and surrounding areas, though Russia has historically targeted civilian areas in Ukraine. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Ukraine struck Wildberries logistics hubs, adding to over a dozen recently damaged.
