'Temu Bluey': Fans react to Disney’s take on the Aussie favourite

Some Bluey fans are unhappy about Disney’s animated movie adaptation, which uses 3D animation instead of the show’s traditional 2D style. The teaser showed Bluey and Bingo playing with a balloon before revealing the release date of August 6, 2027. Fans criticized the new style, calling it 'Temu Bluey' and stating it altered the characters' identity. One commenter described the animation as resembling a children’s book brought to life, with bold outlines, flat colors, and simple backgrounds. Others suggested fans might band together to pressure studios to change the animation style, similar to how Sonic’s design was altered in a 2020 movie. While some fans were enthusiastic, others questioned why adults were upset about a children’s movie. The film follows Bluey, Bingo, mum Chilli, and dad Bandit on an adventure. It is directed by Joe Brumm, creator of the show, and produced by Ludo Studio. Melanie Zanetti and Dave McCormack will voice the parents.
