Xdinary Heroes cancel all three fan meetings amid Gun-il's departure

JYP Entertainment announced through its official channels on the 14th that it would cancel 'Xdinary Heroes 3rd Fanmeeting 'THE X-TOWN'', which had been set to take place at Korea University Hwajeong Gymnasium from September 18 to 20. The event had originally been planned for three sessions over three days. The agency said it has been in extensive discussions with the artists about the group's future activities after Gun-il's recent departure, and that it is adjusting the direction and schedule of activities to ensure stable team operations. However, Xdinary Heroes' future schedule, excluding the fan meeting, will continue as planned. The fan meeting cancellation was decided just one day after Gun-il left the group. Earlier, JYP said, 'We recognized the seriousness of the matter involving Gun-il and, after discussions, concluded that it would no longer be possible for him to continue group activities.' It added, 'The exclusive contract was terminated by mutual agreement.' The controversy began when a woman, identified as A and claiming to be Gun-il's ex-girlfriend, released messenger chat logs and recorded phone calls on social networking service. The recording included Gun-il expressing dissatisfaction with the other members and using profanity toward some fans. On the day the controversy broke, Gun-il explained through a fan communication platform, 'The people I was speaking emotionally about were some malicious fans who hid behind anonymity and indiscriminately criticized us or invaded our privacy.' He said his remarks were not directed at the entire fandom. He added, 'What I said was absolutely not directed at all the Villains who believed in us and supported us.' Xdinary Heroes will continue as a five-member group without Gun-il.
